  34. What is Méthode Cap Classique (MCC)?
Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) is the term for South African sparkling wines crafted using traditional methods. This term emerged in response to the prohibition on using 'Champagne' and 'Champenoise' for any product other than the bottle-fermented wine from the Champagne region in France.

Sparkling wine (or MCC) is renowned for its effervescence and celebratory nature. It's characterized by its lively bubbles, which are a result of carbon dioxide trapped within the wine during the fermentation process. This unique feature creates a refreshing and invigorating sensation on the palate. Sparkling wine is often associated with special occasions and festivities, making it a popular choice for toasts and celebrations.
